Description
Specter Vision is the visual studies archive of the Mr. Specter world — a research platform that documents objects, vehicles, people, spaces and the culture around them through long-form photographic studies. The brand needed more than a portfolio: a publication with the pacing of an editorial magazine and the rigour of an archive.
We built Specter Vision on PhotoEngine, Catalystdev's Django + Wagtail platform for photographers. Studies, Artifacts, Field Notes and The Lab are each structured content types, so every new series drops into a consistent, image-first layout. The site is published in English, French and Spanish.
PhotoEngine's proofing and client tools sit behind the public archive, and a collaboration flow invites brands and editors to propose a study — turning the archive into a source of commissioned work.
Project requirement
- Deploy PhotoEngine as a cinematic, image-first publication
- Structure Studies, Artifacts, Field Notes and The Lab as editable content types
- Publish in English, French and Spanish
- Connect the archive to the wider Mr. Specter world (Chez Specter, Specter Parts, social)
- Add a 'Propose a Study' collaboration flow and newsletter sign-up
- Keep client proofing available behind the public site
Project Result
Specter Vision now publishes new studies in a consistent, cinematic format without design work for each release. The archive gives the Mr. Specter brand a credible home for its photography, links its shop and parts platforms into one world, and opens a direct path for collaboration and commissioned studies.
