In Freyja We Trust

Across Scandinavian folklore, Freyja has been long thought of as the goddess of fertility by inhabitants of the region. The practitioners often prayed to her to ensure the survival of their crops and obtain a good harvest. The reason is simple: we wish to reap the benefits of our labour. In modern days, we no longer turn to Freyja or other deities but to technology which ensures a higher rate of success. Every new cycle, we turn to our collective knowledge and best practices to obtain the best return.

How is this pertinent to us? You have this new idea that you wish to act upon, you have this seed that needs to be sowed but this process is only the start of the battle. You are required to make that seed (read here your social presence) bloom and that is a lot of maintenance. Let this be your crash course in gardening.

The number one tip to maintaining a social media presence is, well, being present. However, being present also means being consistent with your presence. The form it takes can vary from one platform to another: TikTok requires multiple posts a day (3 to 5) whereas on Instagram you can get away with 1 to 3 posts a week. All of this depends on :

What type of content do you plan to post on each platform?

Who is your target audience on each platform

This leads to our second point: know your audience. Each platform you use will have its own unique demographic. Obviously, there will be overlapping but it’s still a necessity to understand who belongs where so you can tailor a message with the most impact. Having a streamlined message will help you create higher-quality content that is on the brand and resonates with your audience. When you have a solid message that you don’t stray from, you can count on your social media posts to always be relevant to your audience. However, do not neglect the use of keywords and we cannot stress that enough. They are incredibly valuable in increasing your visibility.

When all is said and done, the most important thing is staying true to yourself. Be honest, and transparent and people will naturally gravitate toward you.
